Are you looking for a role where your development and wellbeing are priortised?

At CVS, we put our colleagues first, giving you the support you need to provide the best possible care. From clinical to non-clinical challenges, you'll always have the resources and teams alongside you. We'll be your biggest supporter - it's in our nature.

With market-leading learning, on-the-job training, and collaboration with skilled colleagues, you'll have the tools to grow-whether you're building confidence early in your career or looking to deepen your expertise. From advancing in your current role to exploring new leadership or specialist pathways, we provide the support and opportunities to help you achieve your goals.

Life at Briar Dawn Veterinary Centre

Briar Dawn is a small animal practice with a passionate team of vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists. Our facilities include the latest technology, including dental radiography, digital x-ray, and referral-level ultrasound equipment with cardiac and abdominal probes, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, plus rhinoscopy equipment for those with a medical interest. We have a TTA kit and electro-cautery, plus a tonometer and slit lamp, giving you the tools you need to deliver outstanding care. We pride ourselves on our friendly and collaborative environment where everyone is supported in providing the best possible care to animals.

We are located at the gateway to the Pennines and are very accessible, with vets based in the city (Manchester) but also close to several other major cities/towns like Huddersfield, Stockport, Bradford, or those choosing a more rural life!

See what our Senior Vet has to say! -

"I have worked for Briar Dawn for almost two years now and love it here. I was approaching burnout in my previous job managing a busy charity hospital and this role has made me rediscover my passion for veterinary work."

"We are not driven by targets, but by providing excellent patient care. We have twenty minute appointments and plenty of admin time, ensuring that we do all we can for our patients and clients without impacting our own wellbeing. Being a small practice, we are able to build up excellent relationships with our clients and their animals and ensure case continuity. We see many unusual cases and have the skillset across the team to work these up fully. We also work closely with local referral centres, who are on hand to offer advice and accept referrals from us where needed."

"There is scope here to pursue areas of interest, whether this be medical or surgical, and this is encouraged. We have all the usual toys and are actively encouraged to use them. I highly recommend coming here to see for yourself"

This role is full-time, 40 hours across 4o or 5 days, with a share in the 1:3 Saturday rota. We can also consider part-time, job-share, and more flexible applications - just let us know what works for you.
