Overview

Veterinary Surgeon - Twilight 1:8

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at PetMedics in an Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) role. This position involves working one week of twilight shifts (6pm - 4am, 9.5 hours plus a 30-minute break) every 8 weeks.

What we are looking for
  • A Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2 years of experience; ECC experience is a bonus but not essential, as mentorship is available
  • Strong communication and time management skills in emergencies
  • Option for consult-only shifts, with surgical cases handled by colleagues on duty
  • A 1 in 8 week rota that can complement another role elsewhere
  • No sole charge, always 2 to 4 vets on shift, depending on the time
About PetMedics

PetMedics is a large, 24-hour veterinary hospital supported by an outstanding clinical team of 33 vets, 40 nurses, and PCAs, all dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Our hospital is equipped with:

  • 4 theatres, 6 consulting rooms, a dedicated ICU
  • On-site CT scanner, digital x-ray, 3 ultrasound machines
  • Endoscopy, laparoscopy, mechanical ventilation
  • In-house laboratory

You’ll be working alongside a highly experienced team, including Certificate holders in ECC, surgery, medicine, imaging, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology, and clinical pathology.
