Job summary

Medivet Group in Leigh-on-Sea is seeking a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team on a fixed-term contract up to 12 months. This role offers a 4-day week with fixed days off and shared OOH duties at our 24-hour Southend hospital.

You’ll work with 2 experienced vets, 5 RVNs and 5 support staff, handling a varied caseload while developing clinically. 12 months UK experience is required; relocation sponsorship may be available.

Qualifications

• 12 months UK experience required.
• Qualified MRCVS with a passion for patient care.
• Willingness to work a 4‑day week, with one in three Saturdays.

Job description

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Veterinary surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team in the beautiful seaside town of Leigh-on-Sea on a fixed term contract up to 12 months. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet who is keen to develop their skills within a busy, well‑equipped practice, supported by a highly experienced and welcoming team.

The role includes:

• Full‑time position with a 4‑day working week
• Fixed days off to support a great work‑life balance
• 1 in 3 Saturdays
• Participation in a shared OOH and Bank Holiday rota at our 24-hour Southend hospital, with a minimal and well‑supported OOH commitment
• A varied and busy caseload to help build your clinical experience.

Our team you’ll be working alongside:

• 2 experienced Veterinary Surgeons who are keen to support and mentor
• 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs)
• 5 Client Care Assistants (CCAs)
