Are you a Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2-3 years’ experience looking for a well-established practice where you can enjoy a varied caseload while continuing to develop your skills?
We are looking for an enthusiastic GP Vet to join our friendly and experienced team in Canvey Island. This role would suit a vet who enjoys a good mix of consultations, surgery and diagnostics, and who is keen to build on their existing skills.
We actively support our vets to continue learning and progressing. There is the opportunity to work towards a certificate, with support for further clinical development. You will also have the opportunity to develop your surgical skills, including learning laparoscopic spays, alongside gaining experience with a broad range of diagnostic procedures.
Our well-established clinic has excellent facilities, including:
You will be supported by a strong and experienced team of Vets, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs and CCAs, creating a collaborative environment where you can ask questions, share knowledge and continue to develop.
We offer a 4-day working week, with a 1:6 full weekend rota. There is also a shared responsibility for out-of-hours on-call and Bank Holiday cover, which is provided through our 24-hour practice in Southend. As this is shared across the wider network, these shifts are rarely required, giving you a good balance between providing excellent patient care and enjoying your time away from work.
Canvey Island offers a great balance between work and life outside the practice. There are good transport links into London, making it an accessible location for those who want to enjoy everything London has to offer without living in the city.
Closer to home, the practice is near the seawall, perfect for a walk and some fresh air after work, with the surrounding marshes and downs providing plenty of opportunities to get outdoors.
If you are looking for a practice where you can enjoy a varied GP caseload, excellent facilities, supportive colleagues and genuine opportunities to develop your clinical skills, we would love to hear from you.
You’re a qualified MRCVS with a passion for clinical excellence and client care. You’re a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you.
