Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Veterinary Degree: Must hold a recognised degree in Veterinary Medicine (MRCVS).
  • RCVS Registration: Full registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
  • Clinical Experience: 1-2 years' experience in a small animal or mixed practice environment.
  • Surgical Skills: Competency in routine surgical procedures (spaying, neutering, dental work).
  • Diagnostic Skills: Proficiency with X-rays, ultrasound, and laboratory tests to diagnose and treat animals.
  • Client Communication: Strong communication skills to explain information clearly and empathetically.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • CPD Commitment: Commitment to ongoing professional development.

  • Specialist Interests: Additional qualifications or interests in orthopaedics, dermatology, or exotic pets.
