Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon

Salary: Up to £60,000 D.O.E

Location: Garston Vets, Frome, Somerset, and Wiltshire

Job Type: Permanent. Full time, part time applicants welcomed.

Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days, 1:5 weekends (shift based, not full weekend, based at Frome), 1 weeknight in every 2 weeks.

Garston Vets is based on the Somerset and Wiltshire border within easy reach of the vibrant and historic cities of Bath, Bristol, and Salisbury. The beautiful south coast is an hour away, and lovers of the outdoors can find plenty to do in the nearby Mendip Hills and Salisbury Plain. Frome itself is regularly featured as one of the most desirable small towns in the UK.

We are looking for a Small Animal Vet to join our large first opinion practice. Applicants must be confident with consulting, working within the theatre and hospital environment, enjoy working as part of a team, and should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a desire to progress.

We invest heavily in training across the team and are proud to have the latest equipment and modern facilities to offer the most up-to-date advice and treatment for our clients and their pets.

Our sites have excellent facilities including well-equipped consult rooms, state-of-the-art theatres, isolation units, onsite lab, ultrasound, digital x-ray, all sites are cat friendly ISFM with designated cat-friendly appointments, laser therapy, dedicated staff room, and a brand new CT coming in March!

We are a progressive practice with five sites: Frome, Melksham, Trowbridge, Warminster, and Westbury. All are well equipped and supported to offer high-quality service. In 2024, we will acquire a CT scanner at our Frome hospital site for 24-hour care.

Interests include orthopaedics, dermatology, ECC, exotics, cardiology, dentistry, internal medicine, ultrasound, and laparoscopic surgery, with several certificates in Cardiology, Medicine, Surgery, and ISFM Medicine in cats.
