Veterinary Surgeon – Multi-Vet Team | Essex (Near Southend & London)

We’re excited to be supporting a thriving small animal practice in Essex—perfectly placed between the coast and the capital—who are now looking to welcome another Veterinary Surgeon to their friendly, experienced team.

The Practice

This is a purpose-built, modern facility equipped with all the expected toys, and a strong, supportive team environment to match. You’ll be joining a 3-vet team (including a certificate holder in dermatology), 4 RVNs, student nurses, VCAs, and a dedicated client care team. The Clinical Director brings a wealth of experience and is hands-on in mentoring and supporting career development.

The Role

  • Full-time ideally, but flexible or part-time hours can absolutely be discussed
  • No OOH, bank holidays or on-call – and a manageable 1 in 4 weekend rota
  • You’ll need to be confident in routine surgeries, medical cases, and comfortable with occasional sole charge

Why This Role?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work with a loyal client base, varied caseload, and a team that genuinely cares about each other’s success. Whether you’re working towards a certificate or just keen to refine your skills in a supported setting, you’ll have the tools and guidance to make it happen.

What’s on Offer:

  • Salary up to £65,000 DOE
  • £5,000 welcome or relocation bonus
  • CPD encouraged and funded – including support for postgraduate qualifications
  • Healthcare plan, pension, and generous staff discounts

Location Highlights:

  • Just 40 minutes by train to London Liverpool Street
  • Close to Southend-on-Sea and the Essex coastline
  • Fantastic access to shopping, restaurants, and green space
  • Free parking and great public transport options

This is a fantastic chance to become part of a well-run, close-knit team in a brilliant part of the country—coastal vibes, city lights, and clinical variety all rolled into one.
