Job summary

Vets for Pets Crayford is seeking an enthusiastic vet surgeon to join a friendly, supportive team in a RCVS Practice Standards Accredited clinic. You will perform routine surgical and medical cases with confidence, contributing to a compassionate, client‑oriented service.

The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with 1 in 3 Saturdays, no OO H, and a team of 5 vets, 3 nurses, 2 locum nurses, and reception staff. CPD support and a positive practice culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified veterinary surgeon with up-to-date clinical skills.
• Experience in small animal medicine and surgery preferred.
• RCVS-accredited practice environment and CPD support.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine surgical and medical cases in cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs.
• Provide high-quality client communication and aftercare.
• Collaborate with a team of vets, nurses and support staff.

Job description

Crayford is seeking an enthusiastic vet surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team. You will be joining a local, RCVS Practice Standards Accredited clinic where Robert our Veterinary Partner has full clinical freedom and you will also have the support and benefits of working for the Vet Group.

The team sees a wide variety of cat, dog, rabbit and guinea pig medical and surgical cases and offer 15-minute consults as standard. The practice is equipped with digital X-rays, Dental X-rays, endoscope, Idexx Lab and dental machine.

You will be joining a passionate team made up of 5 vets, 3 nurses, 2 locum nurses, 2 veterinary care assistants, practice manager and 7 receptionists. The team holds a variety of interests from behaviour and wellness through to small furry care! Robert is encouraging of CPD and is happy to support study towards Certificate level.

You will feel confident with routine surgical and medical cases and enjoy building strong relationships with patients, clients and team. Ideally looking for a vet with strong surgical skills.

The hours are full time (40 hours per week) including 1 in 3 Saturdays. The practice is open 6 days per week closed on Sundays. We are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Easter Monday, working the rest of the bank holidays. There is occasional sole charge responsibility but no OOH.
