Job Description:

Welcome to Wanstead Veterinary Hospital. Our largest 24-hour hospital in the group is looking for a soft tissue surgeon wishing to step into a purely surgical position on a full-time basis.

Our new recruit will be a certificate holder or advanced practitioner in surgery, ideally experienced in ultrasonography.

About your new role:

This role allows an experienced surgeon to lead the surgical caseload at our flagship hospital in East London.

Working 40 hours per week, including weekend rotations, you will support the team with advanced soft tissue cases alongside our experienced theatre RVNs. You will be rota’d to 2 bank holidays per year to support hospital operations on key dates.

The hospital performs all surgeries from GP to referral level, including SUB placement, liver resections, and thoracic surgery. It is equipped with multiple cautery units, harmonic scalpel, and a full laparoscopy/thoracoscopy/endoscopy kit.

Wanstead Veterinary Hospital offers excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral services to clients and a network of over 20 branches, providing a broad range of surgical cases.

State-of-the-art diagnostics include a new ultrasound scanner, CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, a diagnostic imaging specialist, and experienced surgeons conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgeries.

Wanstead is located on the outskirts of Essex, close to rural areas, with excellent transport links into London via a short walk to a Central Line tube station.

Salary: £80,000 to £110,000 (FTE), depending on experience and potential for growth.
