Job description

Do you treat each pet like it's your own and want to join a practice that shares your values for patient care? With a salary up to £65,000, Street Vets for Pets are seeking a skilled, personable vet to join our friendly team in our well-established and busy practice.

About us
Locally owned by Johan and Brunhilda who split their time between Street Vets for Pets and their sister practices in Bridgewater and Weston Super Mare, you'll be joining a small and friendly team with most of the team having been with us for over 5 years! Our team of vets share multiple years of experience between them and work closely with a very settled and supportive team of 3 RVNs, 1 VCA and 2 receptionists.

The practice
The practice itself is designed for more rewarding work. Based on the mezzanine of a thriving Pets at Home store with lots of light, space and a great outlook. It's equipped to a very high standard and includes 3 consult rooms, theatre, cat and dog isolation wards as well as a designated colleague space consisting of an office/kitchen area.

The role and you
With a clear diary structure, frequent catch ups and a whatsapp group set up for additional clinical discussion, we understand what is needed for the team to provide the first class care they do.

In joining our team and supporting a great community and client base, we are looking for an experienced vet with a broad range of GP skills. We are lucky to have a varied caseload, so you'll be confident in all aspects of everyday small animal medicine and surgery with sole charge required 1 day a week.

We are also happy to consider a consults' only vet with consults given 15 minutes as standard with additional time booked when necessary.

As well as strong clinical skills, we're also looking for someone skilled in building strong relationships with patients and clients, as well as someone who thrives working as part of a great team.

The role is full time but with part time hours also considered and will include a 1 in 4 weekend rota.

The benefits
  • Salary between £40,000- £65,000 (DOE, FTE)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Generous holiday allowance, increasing with service
  • Dedicated CPD allowance including funding towards certificates
  • Paid memberships
  • Exclusive company discounts and benefits

Location
We're very fortunate to be based in the charming town of Street in Somerset with great amenities, educational facilities, local transport links and surrounded by a rich variety of nearby towns, sites and attractions.

Diversity Statement

Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
