Job summary

A leading veterinary services provider is seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. This role requires previous receptionist experience and offers the chance to work in a supportive environment dedicated to animal care. The position is part-time (26 hours/week) with a shift pattern from Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a strong customer service background.

Are you passionate about making pets a priority? Here at CVS, so are we! We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Receptionist at Castle Veterinary Surgeons.

Location: To work between both our Bishop Auckland and Barnard Castle sites on a rota basis

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 26 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday with shifts between the hours of 08.00 – 18.30 and a share in the Saturday rota

Day-to-day Duties Of The Role
  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Completing insurance forms
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments
  • Providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice
What We're Looking For In Our Veterinary Receptionist
  • Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
