Job description

Runnymede Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, RCVS-accredited small animal hospital located in the heart of Surrey. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding patient care and nurturing a strong team culture that values collaboration, respect, and continuous professional growth.

We are looking to grow our team with a compassionate and organised Veterinary Receptionist.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the administrative tasks that keep our practice running smoothly.

Your ability to multitask and communicate effectively will be essential in ensuring a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.

Duties:
  1. Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere.
  2. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
  3. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, treatments, and general pet care information.
  4. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and laboratory results.
  5. Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
  6. Assist veterinary staff with administrative tasks as needed, including preparing examination rooms and handling laboratory samples.
  7. Ensure the reception area is clean, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  8. Provide support during busy periods by helping with client communications and follow-ups.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment is preferred but not essential.
  2. Previous reception experience is essential. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  3. Excellent verbal communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  4. Proficiency in using computer systems for scheduling and record-keeping; familiarity with veterinary software is a plus.
  5. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality customer service. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Your shift pattern

You will work Monday-Friday, with 10-hour shifts and one day off in lieu every week. Shifts range from 8 am to 7 pm. Additionally, Saturdays are on a 1:3 rota, working from 9 am to 2 pm.
