We are seeking anenthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Receptionist at Boverton Veterinary Surgery.

Location: Boverton site

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hoursper week

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday between 08.30 -18.30 with a share in the Saturday rota

About the role:

Day-to-day duties of the role will include:

  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Completing insurance forms
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments
  • Administrative duties when needed
  • And most importantly; providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice

There will also be some Patient Care Assistant duties and these will include:

  • Nursing care to patients
  • Assisting Vets and Nurses in restraining animals for treatment
  • Running internal lab samples

What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist:

  • Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
