IVC Evidensia Group is seeking a friendly and efficient Receptionist for Sussex Coast Vets in East Sussex. You will be the first point of contact, handling bookings, inquiries and client communications, while supporting the clinical team to ensure a smooth patient journey.

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Sussex Coast Vets on a full-time permanent basis.

East Sussex is steeped in history, with beautiful countryside, stunning coastline, and an abundance of choice within the arts, sports, and leisure scenes, with something to suit everyone! We also have the convenience of great links to Brighton, London, and Gatwick Airport. Brighton: 45 minutes by car and train, Central London: 1hr by train, Gatwick Airport: 1hr by car and train.

We are close to the sea, with a long promenade, and the local town has many historic sites, outdoor activities, and a variety of independent restaurants with a strong café culture. There is a thriving arts scene, and several festivals are held each year, including seafood and wine, Jack in the Green festival, the famous bonfire night parade and the annual Mayday motorbike ride, when thousands of bikes descend on the town. Direct train links to Gatwick Airport and Central London, taking 1.5 hours to both.

We are a very kind, friendly and fun team that offers our clients and patients the highest standard of care. Our 3 vets offer a wealth of experience with several certificate holders including surgery, cardiology, medicine. We have a team of 3 dedicated Nurses, plus 5 Support team members.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

*40hrs over either 5:7 days or 4:7. 1:4 Saturdays with hours deducted from the week.

Key Responsibilities

*Providing a warm and professional welcome to clients and their pets

*Managing reception duties, including phone calls, appointments, and inquiries

*Cuddling pets – an essential part of the job

*Processing insurance claims and pet health club memberships

*Keeping records accurate and organised

*Assisting the veterinary team and handling admin tasks away from the desk

*Staying calm and compassionate in high-pressure situations
