Job Title: Patient Care Assistant

Location: Donnachie and Townley Veterinary Surgeons (Rugeley and Stafford)

We are looking for an experienced, caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Patient Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal welfare, who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys being part of a supportive team. The position will involve working in various areas of the practice including reception, laboratory, kennels and theatre and you will be crucial in the smooth running of the practice.

  • Assisting veterinary surgeons and nurses with routine procedures and treatments
  • Feeding, exercising, and grooming inpatients to ensure their well-being and comfort
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the practice, including kennels, catteries, and clinical areas
  • Providing gentle and reassuring handling of a variety of animals
  • Monitoring and reporting on the condition of animals under care
  • Supporting clients with compassion and professionalism
  • Assisting with restocking/ordering, laundry, and general housekeeping tasks
  • Maintaining accurate records and assisting with administrative tasks as required.

Your Shift Pattern

This is a fixed-term full time contract working 40 hours a week. There is no requirement for out of hours work.

Monday 08.00-18.00

Tuesday 08:00-18:00

Wednesday 08:00-17:30

Thursday - OFF

Friday 08:00-18:00

Saturday 08:00-12:30.

  • Large Kennel area for in-patients.
  • Laboratory equipped with biochemistry and haematology analyser, microscope and centrifuge.
