Part Time Veterinary Nurse – Stoke

Up to £34,000 DOE pro rata plus benefits

12-month Fixed Term Contract from May 2025

Vets Now is the UK’s leading provider of emergency pet care, serving over 1700 veterinary practices through 60 plus dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals.Our Stoke clinic has been providing expert vet care since 2004 and the team have recently been recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as an outstanding provider of emergency veterinary care.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

  • First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
  • Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
  • Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

  • RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
  • Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
  • Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
  • Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Working pattern

Working on average 35 hours per week to include nightshifts and 1:2 weekends. Shifts will include:

Monday to Sunday nights from 18:00 to 09:00

Saturday day from 12:00 to 18:30

Sunday day from 08:30 to 18:30 or 09:00 to 19:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
