Overview

Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon has introduced a new Senior RVN role to support the nursing team and provide more guidance in day-to-day hospital life.

About the role

As Senior RVN, you will work on opposite shifts from the Head Nurse to help ensure the efficient running and coordination of the hospital and inpatients. You will liaise with branches and organise in-patient care, and work closely with the Head Nurse to ensure training of junior colleagues is conducted to a high standard and that valuable skills are passed on to future RVNs. This role is suitable for an experienced RVN or an existing branch senior/head RVN with leadership experience who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment and wants to take a step up toward senior hospital nursing and responsibility.

Leadership training will be provided.

This is a full-time position including a 1:4 weekend rotation with time off in lieu ensuring you are not working long stretches, and up to 2 bank holidays per year. There are NO on-call requirements for this position.

About the practice

Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital offers a varied caseload of routine procedures, emergency and critical care. It supports the surrounding Goddard practices for internal referral cases and has access to specialist work with an orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon, dermatologist, and physiotherapist. The hospital is equipped as a 24-hour facility and is RCvs Accredited; it holds an ISFM Silver Award for Cat Friendly Clinics.

Stone Lion is located in Wimbledon Village, offering convenient access to London.

Salary and benefits

Senior RVN salary band: £34,000 to £39,000 depending on experience and room for growth within the role.
