Job description

We’re currently looking for a RVN to join our friendly team at Medivet Standish for a 9 month Fixed term contract.

Medivet Standish is an advanced first-opinion practice, fully equipped with laparoscopy and a supportive clinical team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to balance work and life while still being part of a progressive, well-resourced practice.

You’ll be working alongside a team of three experienced vets, including a certificate holder in surgery. If you have experience or a particular interest in orthopaedics, that would be a real bonus!

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week over 5 days, with either 1 in 3 Saturdays at Standish or 1 in 6 full weekends at our Chorley 24-hour hospital.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

• Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
• Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
• If relevant: Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
• Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
