Here at RSPCA, we know it's a cliché but no two days are the same. We've added a short summary of what a typical day might look like for a Staff Nurse; for full insight, please refer to the attached job description.

Our Veterinary Nurses are integral for the smooth running of the busy hospital. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will carry out nursing duties for a variety of animal welfare cases, predominantly cats, dogs, and wildlife species.

The hospital supports the work of the RSPCA's Inspectors, animal centres, and branches by providing essential veterinary care around the clock. Our Veterinary Nurses work on a shared seven-hour rota basis.

Final note from us & good luck with your application

We review applications as they are received, and roles may close earlier than advertised due to high interest; early submissions are highly recommended.

We try to give feedback where possible, but due to high application volumes, this may not always be feasible.

We actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, especially from minority ethnic groups and individuals with disabilities, as these groups are currently underrepresented at the RSPCA.

Our mission is to ensure animals have a good life by rescuing and caring for those in need, advocating for all animals, and inspiring everyone to treat them with compassion and respect.
