Job summary

Medivet Alfreton is seeking a RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse to join a large, supportive team. You’ll assist with surgeries, run nurse-led clinics, monitor patients and help with admissions and transfers.

Join a permanent, full-time role with 1 in 8 weekends, bank holidays, and an on-call rota in a well-equipped practice offering excellent CPD and career development.

Qualifications

• RCVS registered veterinary nurse required.
• Experience delivering patient and client care.
• Experience working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience supporting nurse consults and contributing to practice performance.
• Coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre- and post-procedure activity.
• Carry out nurse-led appointments and schedule activities.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
• Complete patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, complying with standards.
• Hold briefings to coordinate the team for efficient running of the practice.

Job description

At Medivet Alfreton you’ll be part of a large, supportive team of 15 vets, an amazing head nurse, 15 nurses, and 5 receptionists, all working together to provide the best care possible.

Many of our vets hold or are working towards certificates in dermatology, cardiology, dentistry, surgery, internal medicine, imaging, emergency & critical care, and ophthalmology. The practice is well-equipped with seven consult rooms, separate dog and cat wards, three sterile theatres, dedicated diagnostic suites, dental facilities, digital x-ray, two staff rooms, and more. Our hospital is committed to maintaining high standards and providing excellent care to both clients and patients.

We are offering a permanent full time contract including 1 in 8 full weekends. You will also be required to work Bank Holidays and to join our on-call rota.
