Job summary

Inspiring Vet Care in Sittingbourne is seeking a Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join Wellpets, a full-time permanent position. The role supports animal care, cleaning, preparation of kennels, hygiene, and client communication, with a 40-hour week.

You’ll work as part of a team, gain experience in clinical settings, cover reception as needed, and participate in infection control and safety procedures. Training and development opportunities are offered within our supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Reliable and motivated team player with a caring approach to animals
• Good communication skills for client and colleague interactions
• Strong organisational skills to manage tasks in a busy veterinary environment
• Proactive attitude to learning and development within veterinary care
• Experience with animals in clinical or non-clinical settings is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare accommodation for animals, selecting bedding and kennel requirements
• Follow hygiene, biosecurity, and infection control procedures and document cleaning
• Prepare theatre and prep areas for procedures and set up clinical environments
• Care for and maintain clinical equipment and dispose of waste safely
• Adhere to health and safety policies and read all relevant information
• Assist with reception tasks, answer phones, and communicate with clients and suppliers
• Inform clients about feeding and discharge of inpatients from non-complicated procedures
