Job summary

PDSA Oldbury is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Care Assistant to support the clinical team and help deliver high standards of patient care and client service. You will work across day-to-day hospital life, assisting nurses and surgeons while ensuring a welcoming experience for clients.

The role requires a Veterinary Care Assistant Level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) and prior veterinary practice experience. A varied shift pattern applies and you must be aged 18 or over.

Qualifications

• You must hold a Veterinary Care Assistant Level 2 Diploma (or equivalent qualification).
• Previous experience working within a veterinary practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Surgeons with patient care and animal handling.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic hospital environment.
• Assisting on reception and providing a warm, welcoming experience for clients.
• Promoting pet wellbeing and supporting owners with empathy and professionalism.
• Discussing appropriate financial contributions with clients in a sensitive and respectful manner.
• Helping the wider team deliver outstanding care to pets and the people who love them.
