Job description

Adams Vets are looking for a Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team!

Adams Vets is a well-established practice, having opened our first vet practice in 1975. We have worked to maintain personal relationships with our clients and their pets ever since. We welcome our regulars by name as soon as they walk through the door. We have continued to build and grow our exceptional team and are now looking for a second VCA to support our team between both branches. The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive team of 7 Vets, 4 Nurses, 1 VCA, and 5 Receptionists. Experience with animals is essential!


The role includes:
  1. Assisting the vets and nurse in caring for our patients including but not limited to:
  2. Restraining for blood sampling and IV placement
  3. Restraining for procedures
  4. Performing temperatures, heart rates, and respiration rates.
  5. Walking and providing TLC to in-patients
  6. Feeding in-patients
  7. Cleaning and bathing patients as required
  8. Maintaining high levels of cleanliness throughout the clinic
  9. Assisting with reception duties and administration

Experience with animals is essential for this role; the successful candidate will be confident handling a variety of species.


About the rota and salary:

The position is a full-time Monday-Friday role working 8 hours per day with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings from 8:30am-1:00pm (no Sundays or bank holidays!).
