Overview

We are recruiting for a float Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to work between our St Margaret's Vets and Richmond Vets on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) with a light weekend rota and no OOH or on-call requirements. The salary is up to £28,000, depending on experience.

Role location: across St Margaret's Vets and Richmond Vets.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing support within a high-level cases environment as part of a friendly surgery team.
  • Deliver high-standard patient care and contribute to a premium level of service for clients and their pets.
  • Assist in daily clinical duties, clinical procedures, and general practice operations.
  • Support the team in handling a diverse caseload and collaborate with specialists such as orthopaedics, internal medicine, and dentistry where appropriate.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive, supportive team atmosphere.
Qualifications and Development
  • Interest in pursuing further qualification; potential training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
  • Experience or enthusiasm for veterinary nursing and high-quality patient care is desirable.
