Scone Equine Hospital – On Farm Services Our On Farm Service veterinarians provide both routine primary care and a 24 hour emergency service for equine patients throughout the Upper Hunter Valley.In the busy stud season our veterinarians visit our clients daily to examine newborn foals, check mares for service and pregnancy, follow-up surgical cases, treat sick foals and reassess medical cases discharged from our hospital.
The RoleScone Equine Hospital is seeking Veterinary Assistants to assist our Senior Reproductive Veterinarians on farm. This is a seasonal role that will require you to start early in the morning Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday morning. This role has a large component of administrative work and although is near horses no physical horse handling is required. The successful applicant will be paired with one Veterinarian for the season but will have a variety of tasks within the clinic each afternoon. You will need to be motivated, have excellent communication skills and be aligned with the values of Scone Equine Hospital. This position would suit someone wanting to experience the thoroughbred industry, a recent graduate from Equine Science or those wanting to pursue a career in equine veterinary medicine as a Nurse or a Veterinarian.
