WHAT YOU'LL DO

Coordinating the shore base management for the ships under their responsibility.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the activities of all support departments to ensure that adequate ship support is achieved in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
  • Promote and encourage environmental issues as addressed in the Company's Safety Management System.
  • Prepare formal reports to inform the Company and Client as to the condition, performance and cost associated of vessels under management.
  • Make regular visits to vessels to ensure its performance meets the Company's criteria for safe and effective operation.
  • Ensure that no maintenance planning has any unnecessary adverse effect on the commercial operation of the ship.
  • Forecasting, budgeting and accountability for the operating costs for the vessels under management. Draw attention of Fleet Manager when cost is expected to be above budget.
  • Attend the vessel during drydocking and major repair periods in order to ensure that all necessary work and repairs are satisfactorily competed within agreed budgets.
  • Promote and comply with the Company's "Safety and Environmental Policy" and any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Management of the company.

Required Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Education: Engineering.

Experience: Minimum Second Engineer - Management cape-size bulk carriers.

Specific Business Knowledge: Vessel Manager experience.
