Job summary

Our Cheltenham-based client is seeking an ambitious Sous Chef to join a varied hospitality operation delivering cafés, weddings, and large-scale events. You will support the Head Chef, lead a kitchen team, and help manage stock, costs and food safety across multiple venues.

Role is full-time, 40 hours across a 5-day rota, with six-month probation and a competitive salary of £32,000–£35,000, plus 28 days holiday and a subsidised gym membership.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Sous Chef or Senior Chef looking to progress
• Excellent cooking skills and genuine passion for high-quality food
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management
• Experience of stock control, food costing and reducing waste
• The ability to lead, motivate and support the development of a busy kitchen team
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across different venues

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen operation
• Leading and motivating the kitchen team while maintaining consistently high standards
• Assisting with menu development and delivering high-quality food across cafés, functions and large-scale events
• Managing stock, food costs and waste to support an efficient and commercially focused kitchen
• Ensuring excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen standards are always maintained
