Verification & Validation Engineer

CPS Group are proud to be supporting the recruitment for this position. An established technology engineering organisation in Cardiff is seeking a Verification and Validation Engineer to join their growing R&D function.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the development and testing of cutting-edge, safety-critical products that make a genuine difference in people's lives. You'll work within a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing to the full product life cycle - from concept and prototype through to production and release.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute design verification and validation activities across assigned projects.
  • Develop and perform test plans, protocols, and reliability testing, ensuring product performance meets specification.
  • Support risk management, usability testing, and compliance with international standards (including ISO13485, IEC60601, and FDA CFR820).
  • Analyse and interpret test data, preparing formal verification and reliability reports.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure seamless product transition from design to production.
  • Use LabVIEW and other tools to create custom control, data collection, and reporting programs.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.
  • Maintain calibration and equipment records, supporting ongoing product quality and safety assurance.
Skills & Experience:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience in product design, verification, or validation within a regulated industry (medical devices, aerospace, automotive, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ISO14971 risk management, IEC60601 safety, and ISO13485 quality systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in mechanical, electronic, or electromechanical testing.
  • Proficiency with LabVIEW or similar test automation and data acquisition tools.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
