Job description

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Shift Quality Auditor to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, hardworking individual who is tenacious in ensuring our products and processes are to the highest standards.

Who are Loadhog?

Loadhog is a multi-award-winning company that designs and manufactures returnable packaging solutions for a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, postal and retail. Our employee-owned business is highly entrepreneurial, with all employees joining the company purchasing shares, thereby creating employee engagement, individual wealth, and a strong team spirit.

With headquarters in Sheffield, United Kingdom, along with sites in Europe and the USA, we are known for our market-leading RTP innovations. We continue to invest in new products and manufacturing capacity, with a target to deliver 25% of our turnover from products that are less than five years old.

What is the role?

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Shift Quality Auditor will be responsible for daily inspection, testing, and auditing activities of the manufacturing and assembly processes. Working alongside quality engineers, you will be directly responsible for the overall product quality of finished goods, ensuring all specification and testing requirements have been met and that all incoming materials are fit for purpose.

You will work a 4 on 4 off days/nights shift pattern. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount.

The role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Reviewing and understanding drawings and specifications relating to product requirements.
  • Monitoring moulding and assembly operations to ensure they meet production standards through daily auditing.
  • Identifying and escalating non-conformities when found.
  • Removing all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
  • Daily measurement of products to critical dimensions using calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Operating electronic inspection/test equipment and software.
  • Conducting ad hoc and routine testing in line with departmental requirements.
  • Reporting inspection and test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities.
  • Identifying product and process improvements.
  • Following up on corrective actions for concessions and non-conformities.
  • Daily auditing of production areas for housekeeping and 5S.
  • Archiving of production records & documentation.
  • Actively participating in CI and H&S initiatives.

Who you are?

Desirable skills would be:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment operating within an ISO derived quality management system.
  • Good working knowledge of injection moulding and manual assembly processes.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and take critical dimensions against these.
  • Ability to understand and work to standard operating, testing, and measurement procedures.
  • A hands-on methodical approach to work, with a positive can-do attitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • A team player, happy interacting with colleagues at all levels and across different departments.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow instructions and work under own steam.
  • Excellent IT, written, and verbal communication skills.

What we offer

The benefits package includes a competitive basic salary and 15% non-contributory pension, plus life assurance, private medical cover, permanent health insurance, and a share purchase scheme after the successful completion of your probationary period.

We also offer gym membership to all our colleagues upon joining the business.

We encourage applicants from people of all backgrounds and aim to have a workforce that represents the wider society that we serve. We champion diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing and aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued with a sense of belonging. If any adjustments would help your experience with Loadhog, please let us know when you apply.
