Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is expanding its field sales team with a Venues Sales Representative in the Newcastle area. You’ll engage directly with customers at venues like The Galeries and the MetroCentre, promoting energy tariffs and low-carbon technologies. A driving license is required to travel between venues.

The role offers a competitive salary of £26,300 per year with unlimited commission, and a culture that values autonomy and collaboration. Weekend/evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

Octopus Energy has exciting opportunities to join our field sales team as a Venues Sales Representative. We're changing the landscape of traditional field sales and marketing and reinventing customer interactions. We're focused on making energy greener and better, for everyone.

You’ll be at the frontline of our brand and as such, you're responsible for showing the best of Octopus Energy and all we have to offer the public! You'll meet lots of different people, build genuine connections and help customers make choices that are right for them. We operate in some pretty famous places across Newcastle such as The Galeries and theMetroCentre.

What you'll do...

• As a Venue Sales Representative, you will directly engage with customers on a face to face basis, to promote our energy tariffs and low carbon technologies, such as solar panels, heat pumps and electric vehicles.
• Our Energy Helpers help introduce these local communities to Octopus Energy as a preferred potential supplier by comparing service and products with other energy companies. This helps potential customers make an informed choice on whether they'd benefit from switching to us for their energy supply at their homes.
• Your role will be to make every conversation count, delivering outstanding customer service while creating a welcoming and positive experience for every new customer you bring on board.

What you'll need...

• While sales experience is preferred don't let it put you off if you don't have any, we will help you with that! But if you enjoy talking to people, building relationships and helping customers, we'd love to hear from you.
• You don't need to be the loudest person in the room to be great at Field Sales. We're looking for people who are confident in their own way, great listeners and genuinely interested in connecting with others.
• A positive, approachable and confident communication style
• Experience in a customer centric setting where you have come up with quick and effective customer solutions
• A confident person who is willing to approach customers and maximise every customer interaction
• You love humans, and bringing customers a little bit of joy by making something easy makes your heart sing
• You're a bit obsessive about checking you've got things right - it's your job, not anyone else's
• Honest focused and committed to being an amazing representative of our brand
• A driving license in order to travel to all our different venues situated across the locations
