Overview

Location: St. Mary’s Stadium

Hours: Part Time (22.5 hours)

Contract Type: Permanent

Role

What is the role?

We are looking to recruit a skilled Venue Safety Support Officer to assist the Head of Event Safety and Security and the Operations Co-Ordinator in the delivery of a first-class matchday and event delivery, as well as to assist in training stewards on the NVQ Level 2 Spectator Safety Qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Support resourcing for matchdays and non-football events, including communication and coordination of steward suppliers and traffic management providers, ensuring adequate staffing, service provision and all operational needs are met.
  • Using the club's operational platforms, including Raven, Accreditation and Workday, support stewards with settling in to the role and ensure they have a good understanding of how to use the systems effectively.
  • Work matchdays and events as required, providing on-site support during events and ensuring all operational aspects are managed effectively with any issues addressed promptly and appropriately.
  • Review submission of workbooks from Level 2 and Level 3 Spectator Safety learners and deliver Basic First Aid and First Aid at Work training to relevant staff members.

Qualifications
  • Organisational & Planning Skills – ability to coordinate staffing, schedules, and resources across multiple providers and platforms
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management – clear, professional communication with internal teams, agencies, and external providers.
  • Operational Systems Competence – working knowledge of platforms such as Raven, Accreditation systems, and Workday (or similar).
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively during live events.
  • Training & Coaching Skills – ability to deliver first aid training and support learners with Spectator Safety qualifications.
