Job summary

Walker Hamill is seeking a VC Associate to manage the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and founder relations to due diligence and post-investment support. You will help identify opportunities across Europe and build strong relationships with scientific founders.

In this role you will contribute to internal processes, deal flow management, and representing the firm at industry events, working closely with the founding partners to scale the fund.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Venture Capital, Big Tech, or as a founder/operator in a high-growth technology business.
• A demonstrable passion for startups, emerging technologies, and early-stage investing.
• Outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
• A strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Biotech, Materials Science, or a related STEM discipline would be advantageous.

As an Associate, you will be involved in the entire investment lifecycle, from sourcing opportunities and building founder relationships to conducting due diligence, supporting investment decisions, and working closely with portfolio companies post-investment. You will play a key role in identifying and winning exceptional investment opportunities across Europe and developing relationships with leading scientific founders.

As part of the role, there will be additional opportunities to contribute to building out internal processes, managing deal flow, supporting portfolio companies, representing the firm at industry events, and helping drive the continued growth of the business. Working directly alongside the founding partners, you will gain significant exposure to both venture investing and the broader strategic development of a rapidly scaling fund.
