Job description

UK Vehicles Policy Officer

Transport & Environment UK is seeking a Vehicles Policy Officer to lead initiatives on the future of vehicles and road transport in the UK. This role focuses on shaping policies to reduce emissions from cars, vans, and trucks, promoting vehicle electrification, phasing out polluting fuels, and supporting cleaner freight solutions.

The successful candidate will:

1. Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in environmental, energy, or transport policy or technical issues.
2. Possess a strong understanding of effective advocacy strategies.
3. Be proactive and able to influence policymakers, industry stakeholders, and other partners.
4. Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Demonstrate proven project management skills and the ability to work effectively in teams under tight deadlines.

Additional desirable qualities include knowledge of UK transport policy related to vehicle decarbonization, a personal commitment to sustainable transport, and proficiency in at least one other EU language.

This is a full-time position based in London, with flexible working arrangements allowing up to 3 days of homeworking per week.
