Job description

Vehicle Technician x2

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Ringmar, East Sussex

Contract: Permanent

Pay Rate: £35,000 – £45,000

A leading firm within the Bournemouth area is currently looking to employ 2x Vehicle Technicians on a permanent basis. As a Vehicle Technician, you will need to carry out planned maintenance and emergency (breakdown) repairs on various vehicles.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing routine maintenance and repairs to equipment and vehicles of different manufacturers and models.
  • Performing major and minor repairs to cars, vans, heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other vehicles in the company fleet and customers' fleets.
  • Performing regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services to DVSA standards.
  • Maintaining a keen awareness of health and safety, working safely, and maintaining risk assessments with teams.
  • Ability to perform well independently and with teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Providing repair services and breakdown cover to clients on the road in case of emergencies.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
  • Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees.

Experience Required:

  • Full driving license; LGV license not essential but would be an advantage.
  • NVQ III or City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Repair or manufacturer equivalent.
  • Knowledge of various makes and models of vehicles and equipment.

Package/Benefits:

  • Salary of £35,000 to £45,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications) with opportunities for overtime at enhanced rates.
