Job summary

Halfords Autocentres in Yeovil is seeking a Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles, with the opportunity to gain your MOT Tester licence. We’ll support you through the qualification, with a salary uplift on completion.

As a Technician you'll perform diagnostics across electrical, braking and suspension systems and, once qualified, conduct MOT tests to DVSA standards, maintaining the highest quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced technician able to carry out diagnostics and more complex repairs.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repairs, including complex components such as clutch and timing belt replacements.
• Perform diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards once qualified.
• Maintain and repair vehicles to a high standard, ensuring safety for customers.
