Job summary

Aka Recruitment is assisting a local Huddersfield client with a Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester role. The position is based in a thriving, family-run workshop with Monday to Friday 8:30am–5pm and 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:30am–12:30pm, paid as overtime.

Starting basic salary is £40,000, with scope for negotiation based on experience. A supportive environment, modern workshop facilities and ongoing development are offered.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair completed or equivalent.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician in the automotive industry.
• MOT Testing licence advantageous but not essential.
• Own tools and full UK Driving Licence with no more than six penalty points.
• Positive attitude and attention to detail, pride in quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and carry out repairs to industry standards.
• Remove and refit mechanical and electrical components efficiently and accurately.
• Perform vehicle health checks and inspections, identifying additional work.
• Adhere to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
