Recruit 4U Ltd in Loughborough is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join a close-knit family-owned workshop. Must have 5 years' UK workshop experience, own tools, and a live MOT card. Salary £40,000–£45,000 with bonuses; no sponsorship, 08:00–17:00, Monday to Friday.

You will perform MOT tests, inspect critical components, document results, and ensure safety and compliance. Team-focused role with training opportunities and a supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on vehicle workshop experience in the UK.
• Full UK driving licence, own tools and a live MOT card required.
• Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship offered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT tests and vehicle maintenance to legal standards.
• Inspect brakes, suspension, lights, tyres and exhaust systems.
• Identify defects causing MOT failure and report clearly to customers.
• Complete documentation and keep detailed inspection records.
• Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained.
• Follow health and safety regulations throughout testing.
• Assist with general vehicle maintenance when required.

Job Summary

Due to expansion into a larger Workshop space we are looking to add an additional experienced Vehicle technician / Mot tetser to our close knit-team, we are a family-owned friendly business working with local customers and businesses in Loughborough.

Our business consists of a team of 9 members all of which work together and our Tech/tester will have to be a team player and join the team wholeheartedly we don't need any lone wolves.

As a Vehicle technician / Mot tester Must hold a full Uk driving licence, own tools and Live mot card.

You must have the right to work in the uk as there is NO possibility of a work sponsorship for this role.

We are looking for the right Vehicle technician / Mot tetser candidate with a minimum of 5 years experience on the tools within a Uk workshop. We will pay for any ongoing training required.

Monday - Friday NO WEEKENDS 08.00 - 17.00 salary is between £40,000 - £45,000 plus bonus for the right candidate. Company nights out, lunch bought on pay day and extended time off over Christmas. We are very flexible and family oriented.

The successful Vehicle technician / Mot tetser candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental criteria. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough MOT tests and vehicle maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
• Inspect key vehicle components including brakes, suspension, lights, tyres, and exhaust systems.
• Identify any defects or issues that may cause the vehicle to fail the MOT test and communicate findings clearly to customers or management.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and maintain detailed records of each inspection.
• Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly for optimal performance.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during testing procedures.
• Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks when required, including minor repairs or adjustments.
