Job summary

Williams Motor Group in Liverpool is seeking an EV-focused Vehicle Technician to service, diagnose and repair electric vehicles at our state-of-the-art workshop. The starting basic salary is £35,000 with a £2,500 joining bonus and ongoing manufacturer training to support your EV skills.

You’ll work a 42.5-hour week (Mon–Fri 8.30am–5.30pm) with 1-in-4 Saturdays, and there are clear progression paths, including potential earnings up to £51,400 OTE as you grow your EV expertise.

Qualifications

• Level 3 EV/Hybrid or High Voltage qualification preferred; starting salary £35,000.
• City & Guilds Level 3 or IMI Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair required or equivalent.
• Full, valid UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance and repair of vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Work safely on EV and hybrid systems.
• Road test to verify repairs and quality.

Earnings and progression

If you already hold the relevant Level 3 EV/Hybrid or High Voltage qualification, you could join us on a £35,000 starting basic salary.

We also want to hear from experienced Level 3 Vehicle Technicians who are interested in developing their skills and building a career in electric vehicle technology.

As your skills and experience develop, our structured career and training pathway offers further opportunities to increase your earnings and progress your career with Williams Motor Group. Your existing Technician structure offers progression to £51,400 OTE.

Working pattern

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, with Saturday mornings on a 1-in-4 rota, 8.30am to 12.30pm.

About the Electric Vehicle Technician Role

As a Vehicle Technician with an EV focus, you’ll carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, ensuring all work is completed safely and to manufacturer standards.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with the latest vehicle technology while continuing to develop your technical knowledge and EV expertise.

Working as part of a skilled and supportive workshop team at our Liverpool site, you’ll contribute to consistent quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to a high standard
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using computer-based diagnostic equipment
• Working safely on electric and hybrid vehicle systems in line with your qualifications and training
• Repairing or replacing faulty components efficiently and safely
• Road testing vehicles to ensure work is completed correctly
• Following manufacturer checklists, technical procedures and safety requirements
• Maintaining accurate job records and following workshop processes
• Taking pride in tools, equipment and workshop standards
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve efficiency and quality targets

What we’re looking for

• City & Guilds Level 3 or IMI Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• A relevant Level 3 EV/Hybrid or High Voltage qualification is highly desirable and attracts the £35,000 starting basic salary
• Applications are also welcomed from experienced Level 3 Vehicle Technicians looking to develop their EV skillsFull, valid UK driving licence
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

2,500 Joining Bonus Available*

A £2,500 joining bonus is available for successful Technician candidates at our Liverpool site. £1,250 will be paid after one month of employment, with a further £1,250 payable following successful completion of the six-month probationary period. Terms and conditions apply.
