Hawk Hiring in Gloucester is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic to join a technician-first workshop. The role focuses on routine servicing, diagnostics, and high-quality fault finding, with access to modern tooling and manufacturer-style training funded by the employer.

You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, with no weekend shifts, and you’ll bring your own tools to day-to-day repairs and diagnostics. A UK driving licence and hands-on experience are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or City & Guilds / equivalent) with hands-on workshop experience.
• F-Gas certification is preferred (or interest in obtaining it).
• Full UK driving licence essential; MOT Tester licence preferred but not required.
• Must possess own hand tools and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, braking, steering and suspension work.
• Use up-to-date diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
• Work with Senior Technicians on high-level fault finding and engine work.
• Deliver high-quality first-time fixes across multi-brand vehicles.

Your Role

As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Gloucester workshop, you will:

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, braking systems, steering, suspension, and mechanical repairs.
• Utilize up-to-date diagnostic tools to efficiently troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical faults as a Diagnostic Specialist.
• Work alongside Senior Technicians to tackle high-level fault-finding, deep engine work, and safety inspections.
• Deliver high-quality "first-time fix" results across a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.

What You Need

• Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / equivalent) with a minimum of 18 months hands-on workshop experience. Time-served technicians with strong technical capability are also strongly encouraged to apply. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
• Equipment & Mindset: Must possess your own hand tools to manage daily repair and diagnostic tasks effectively. Reliable work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a genuine desire to progress your technical skills.
