Job summary

Halfords Autocentres in Worcestershire invites an apprentice vehicle technician to join our Autocentre network. You will work on a variety of cars, from servicing to diagnostics, learning hands-on with professional mentors.

The programme combines 5 days a week with 1 day at college, 40 hours per week, and a generous holiday allowance. GCSEs in Maths and English are required, and you will develop skills in vehicle inspection, maintenance and fault diagnosis to become a qualified technician.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalents).
• Interest in cars and problem solving is essential.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and be physically capable.
• Baseline knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Learn workplace safety and engineering fundamentals.
• Inspect and service vehicles and perform maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose faults in engines, chassis, and electrical systems.
• Repair practical vehicle components and replace parts as needed.
• Work on a variety of makes and models with modern diagnostic techniques.

Skills
