Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Stockport is seeking a Vehicle Technician to join a professional workshop. You’ll perform servicing, maintenance and repairs to high standards, with a clear development path and a competitive package.

The role offers £31,500 basic salary with an OTE of £46,000, 40 hours per week, funded ongoing training, and a comprehensive benefits package including 31 days leave initially, pension and life assurance. Join a team dedicated to quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician within the automotive industry.
• Strong mechanical and technical skills.
• MOT Tester Licence desirable but not essential.
• Own tools and toolbox.
• A positive attitude and strong team-working ethic.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (subject to licence checks).
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
• Alternative job titles may include: Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Car Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing and maintenance work
• Completing mechanical repairs and defined assembly operations
• Diagnosing faults where required
• Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer and health & safety standards
• Accurately documenting completed service and repair work
• Maintaining high levels of efficiency without compromising quality
• Working closely with the wider workshop team
• Providing excellent technical support and customer service
