Qualifications

Location: Worsley

Hours: 45 - Monday to Friday

About Chevron Traffic Management

Chevron Traffic Management sets up temporary road or lane closures, diversions routes or pedestrian walkways to keep road workers and road users safe while roadworks are underway. This involves road cones, signage, temporary traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Our work is visible all over the country.

The role involves consulting, planning, designing, estimating and liaising with our suppliers and customers to ensure that our schemes are fit for purpose. It also involves innovation and technology to improve safety and reduce carbon footprint. Traffic Management is a challenging industry, but we know that our work keeps people safe and is rewarding.

Role Description

Role overview: Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will maintain our company owned vehicles, mobile plant and trailers across the region to DVSA standards.

Responsibilities
  • Servicing vehicles - carrying out checks and maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines
  • MOT preparation
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
  • Carry out diagnosis, repair and evaluation of vehicles
  • Diagnose symptoms across a range of vehicles
  • Complete relevant documentation (job sheets/cards, service reports)
  • Ensure that workshop housekeeping and health and safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Undertake additional workshop support as required
Qualifications

Essential Attributes for a Vehicle Technician:

  • Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience in a vehicle maintenance and repair role
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Capable of diagnosing a variety of faults

Desirable Attributes for a Vehicle Technician:

  • Previous Light Goods Vehicle experience
  • Category C licence
  • Electrical Experience
  • Previous Heavy Goods Vehicle/Mobile plant maintenance experience
