Job description

Hedin Automotive is looking for a Vehicle Technician.

Your role

Hedin Automotive offers a great opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join our workshop team. As an approved BMW Dealer, you will work on a full range of BMW & MINI vehicles, develop your skills using the latest diagnostic and service technology, and receive bespoke training at the BMW UK Training Academy.

As a BMW vehicle technician, you will undertake routine service inspections for customer-owned vehicles, used-car stock, and retail vehicles for the Stephen James Group, repairing and replacing worn or malfunctioning parts. Inspections are systematic, requiring a process-driven approach.

Main duties include:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles according to BMW / MINI UK standards, promoting BMW standards for quality workmanship.
  • Meet individual and departmental targets within specified timescales.
  • Advise Line Manager on additional repairs needed.
  • Stay updated on technical information.
  • Complete video vehicle health checks to identify issues and sales opportunities.
  • Explain faults and repairs to customers using CitNow.
  • Road test vehicles as appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
  • IMI Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working at a main dealer, manufacturer, or independent service/repair retailer, preferably with BMW or MINI expertise.
  • Experience handling complex repairs and vehicle maintenance.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK and hold a valid, clean UK Driving Licence for at least 1 year.
Salary and Working Hours

Basic Salary: £33,000 to £36,000 (dependent on experience), with OTE £50,000 to £60,000+ per annum.

Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm, with Saturday 8am to 12:30pm (1 in 4 rota basis), paid as overtime.
