Job summary

Probe UK Limited is seeking a hands-on Vehicle Technician to install, service and maintain specialist vehicle adaptations across customer sites, dealerships and workshops in the UK. You will develop engineering skills through on-site and training, delivering high safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes practical workmanship, customer service, and reliability, with 40 hours per week, 8:30am–5:00pm, and benefits including life cover and PMI. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced automotive mechanic or engineer with a motor vehicle qualification.
• Hands-on approach with pride in delivering high-quality work.
• Basic auto electrics knowledge; willing to develop EV tech, welding & fabrication.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills; flexible and deadline-driven.
• Full, valid driving licence; willingness to complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mobile installations at customer premises and dealerships, alongside workshop-based work as required.
• Complete quality-control checks, demonstrate product operation to customers and provide guidance on safe use.
• Manage daily schedules, meet agreed deadlines and maintain accurate job reports and customer communications.
• Undertake ongoing technical training in auto electrics, EV technology, welding and fabrication, while maintaining tools, equipment, stock and company vehicles.

Vehicle Technician Candidate Requirements

• Experienced automotive mechanic or engineer, with a recognized qualification in motor vehicle mechanics.
• Practical, hands‑on approach with pride in delivering high-quality work and a strong automotive or engineering aptitude.
• Basic knowledge of auto electrics, with a willingness to develop skills in EV technology, welding and fabrication.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills, with a flexible, conscientious approach to meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with basic IT skills for job reports and email communication.
• Full, valid driving licence and commitment to completing all required training. Previous vehicle technician, automotive engineering or vehicle adaptation experience is advantageous but not essential.

Salary & Benefits

• Up to £34,000 salary
• 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
