Vehicle Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Carrying out repairs to vehicles using best practice techniques, incorporating BMW approved repair methods and guidelines.
  2. Repairing vehicles in line with manufacturers' repair instructions.
  3. Efficiently diagnosing faults and working within set manufacturers' repair times.
  4. Ensuring correct clockings on jobs.
  5. Completing all priority vehicles for bookings.
  6. Utilizing all materials and consumables in the most cost-effective way.
  7. Performing skilled workshop repair tasks as allocated by the Workshop Manager.
  8. Carrying out warranty repairs according to manufacturers' warranty policies and procedures.
  9. Carrying out up-fit work such as spoilers, parking sensors, ICI systems.
  10. Undertaking QC checks, PDI's, and road tests in line with current processes.
  11. Supporting the body shop in removing and refitting components.
  12. Maintaining general housekeeping of the work area.
  13. Attending brand-specific training courses.
  14. Performing any other duties necessary to provide excellent service to our customers.
  15. Supporting brand press launches.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in the motor trade.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Level 3 City and Guilds or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Good education in core GCSE subjects.
  • Valid full driving license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, workshop, accounts teams, and management.
