Vehicle Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Carrying out repairs to vehicles using best practice techniques, incorporating BMW approved repair methods and guidelines.
- Repairing vehicles in line with manufacturers' repair instructions.
- Efficiently diagnosing faults and working within set manufacturers' repair times.
- Ensuring correct clockings on jobs.
- Completing all priority vehicles for bookings.
- Utilizing all materials and consumables in the most cost-effective way.
- Performing skilled workshop repair tasks as allocated by the Workshop Manager.
- Carrying out warranty repairs according to manufacturers' warranty policies and procedures.
- Carrying out up-fit work such as spoilers, parking sensors, ICI systems.
- Undertaking QC checks, PDI's, and road tests in line with current processes.
- Supporting the body shop in removing and refitting components.
- Maintaining general housekeeping of the work area.
- Attending brand-specific training courses.
- Performing any other duties necessary to provide excellent service to our customers.
- Supporting brand press launches.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years' experience in the motor trade.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Level 3 City and Guilds or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Good education in core GCSE subjects.
- Valid full driving license.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, workshop, accounts teams, and management.
