Your future role

You will be working on our LOTrain project, based out of Ilford and will be occasionally required to work from Willesden TMD.

You'll be responsible for ensuring all train maintenance and servicing activities run to their maximum efficiency and output. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, this includes total preventative maintenance, managing and supporting production staff in fault finding and technical investigations and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of the production department, providing guidance and instruction to Maintenance Technicians.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Assist in running an efficient train maintenance operation which is able to fulfil operational and contractual targets.
  • Manage maintenance projects in accordance with engineering instructions.
  • Responsible for the safety of individuals on the team and that of those impacted by any maintenance activity.
  • Understand and work in accordance with the company’s safety and quality requirements, and procedures within the Deport Safety Management System and Depot Operations Plan.
  • Perform effective diagnosis of train faults and timely repair of components to maximise train availability. Perform scheduled planned preventative maintenance in order to minimise train unavailability / downtime.
  • Analyse faults to identify root cause and development of countermeasures, improvement actions and containments.
  • Control and source maintenance tools, equipment and spares
  • Document breakdowns, identifying root cause and remedial action to help identify and resolve recurring issues
  • Understand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organisation in line with good 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practice
  • Supporting the Shift Production Manager in the identification of training needs
  • Coaching staff in good working practices and quality standards
