We are currently working with a fantastic dealership in the Bath area who are looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician who must have Level 3 qualification and preferably with diagnostic experience. MOT tester accreditation is a further advantage.

You will be working for a well-known brand in excellent conditions and will have the opportunity to grow and develop your career with manufacturer training and full support from the management team.

About the role:
As a Vehicle Technician, you will report to the Workshop Controller and be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles in line with the repair process, meeting customer expectations, while ensuring commercial and operational requirements are considered at all times and maintaining very high industry and brand standards.

Core Responsibilities as Vehicle Technician:

  • Review customer requirements provided by Service Advisors/Executives, ensuring sufficient information is available to complete repairs.
  • Identify parts required to resolve customer issues and order as necessary.
  • Estimate labour operation times for workshop repairs to support Service Advisors/Executives in providing accurate estimates to customers.
  • Perform repairs in accordance with workshop manuals.
  • Write clear and concise job cards.
  • Conduct a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL) on every vehicle.
  • Liaise with relevant staff to optimize efficiency in time and material usage.
  • Record and clock all time spent as per warranty procedures.
  • Carry out road tests and ensure personal quality control.
  • Protect customer property by using protective covers at all times.
  • Adhere to the Insurance Code of Business guidelines for the sale of Approved Warranty and Assistance.
  • Keep technical and job knowledge up to date by participating in educational opportunities and reading manufacturer publications.
  • Meet service KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Take ownership of personal development needs to support business requirements.
  • Complete the Bronze Qualification standard within 1 year of start date.

Hours: 40 hours a week with paid overtime at 1.5x basic rate.
