We help businesses transform through cutting-edge engineering and design solutions. As we grow our automotive presence, we're looking for a Vehicle Safety Test Engineer to join our premium automotive client based Gaydon, on a contract basis.

As a Vehicle Safety Test Engineer, you will support physical, destructive testing on automotive components, systems, and complete vehicles. These tests play a critical role in passive safety development and compliance certification. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting on tests using advanced instrumentation and data acquisition systems. This role is integral to progressing engineering development and meeting regulatory safety standards.

You'll work closely with engineering customers and occasionally witness authorities, ensuring test accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. Initially based on day shifts, this role may transition to an early/late shift pattern later in the year.

Skills and Experience
Prior experience conducting physical laboratory testing in an automotive or engineering environment.
Working knowledge of passive safety regulations, such as FMVSS and ECE standards.
Competent in using instrumentation and data acquisition systems for mechanical measurements.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex test protocols accurately.
Strong documentation and reporting skills with a quality-first mindset.
Familiarity with test scheduling, calibration procedures, or compliance reporting to external authorities.
Practical experience in vehicle safety or crash test environments.
Knowledge of sensor technologies, test rig setups, and mechanical fault diagnosis.
Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Automotive, or Physics (desirable but not essential).
