Job description

Vehicle Prepper

Location: Perry Barr, Birmingham

Shift: Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:00, 1 Saturday in 4

Pay Rate: £16 p/h PAYE

Contract: Long-term, Ongoing work

Are you a skilled Vehicle Prepper with experience in an automotive bodyshop setting? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Working on behalf of one of the leading automotive companies in the UK, successful candidates will be painting a range of vehicles in a busy and fast-paced bodyshop.

The Role:

  1. Full preparation of vehicles prior to painting.
  2. Small to medium filler work to repair body panels.
  3. Sanding panels down.
  4. Bagging and masking vehicles to ensure only the area that needs to be painted is exposed.
  5. Priming panels ready for paint.
  6. Prepping individual parts and panels, such as bumpers and bonnets, which includes:
    1. Sanding down.
    2. Priming.
    3. Placing on racking ready for the paint sprayers to paint.
  7. Vehicles can range from small family cars to light commercial vehicles.

What kind of person are we looking for?

  1. Previous experience of working within an automotive bodyshop is essential for this role.
  2. You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience in a vehicle prepper role.
  3. Excellent attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work under your own initiative as well as being a team player.
  5. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, busy workshop.
  6. Hold a full category B driving licence with a maximum of 6 points for minor offences.
