Job summary

GI Group are recruiting a Vehicle Prep Operative for our busy Grimsby site. The role involves preparing vehicles to standard, performing basic checks and moving vehicles safely on site, with a 12-hour shift pattern (6:00–18:00) on a 4 on/4 off cycle.

Pay is £16.05 per hour, with a temporary-to-permanent opportunity after 12 weeks for the right candidate. Applicants must have a full UK driving licence (2 years) and be 22+, reliable and detail‑oriented.

Qualifications

• Previous vehicle prep experience is required.
• Full UK driving licence, held for 2 years with 0 points or endorsements (existing points can be discussed and accepted, subject to code)
• 22 years of age and over due to insurance
• Strong attention to detail and pride in a job well done
• Reliable, punctual and able to work 12-hour shifts on a 4 on / 4 off basis

Responsibilities

• Preparing vehicles to the required standard before they move to the next stage
• Completing basic checks and reporting any damage/defects
• Moving vehicles safely around site (where applicable)
• Working to targets while maintaining quality and safety standards
